Yoga is more than a physical practice. It is a journey of understanding the body, observing the mind and exploring the deeper dimensions of life.

At The Shiva Constant (TSC), our 200-hour yoga teacher training in Goa is designed for students who wish to deepen their personal practice, explore traditional yogic knowledge and develop the skills to share yoga with others.

Whether you are beginning your journey or have years of experience on the mat, the training offers an opportunity to approach yoga through practice, study, observation and self-inquiry.

Who Is This Yoga Teacher Training For?

Our yoga TTC is intended for beginners taking their first steps into a more structured understanding of yoga, intermediate practitioners wishing to expand their knowledge, and advanced students preparing to develop their teaching skills.

A sincere interest in learning and a willingness to practise are important starting points. If you are unsure whether the program suits your experience, contact the TSC support team before enrolling.

What Will You Learn During the Training?

The curriculum brings together several dimensions of traditional and contemporary yoga education.

  • Asana practice: Explore Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Yin yoga, including posture techniques and the use of props.

  • Alignment and adjustments: Understand posture variations, safe transitions, modifications and appropriate hands-on adjustments.

  • Pranayama: Study breath-based practices under the guidance of experienced teachers.

  • Yoga philosophy: Explore Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and reflect on the practical relevance of yogic philosophy.

  • Yogic anatomy: Study traditional yogic concepts alongside modern anatomical understanding.

  • Teaching methodology: Learn to structure classes, communicate instructions and develop confidence through mock teaching sessions.

  • Kriyas: Learn about traditional yogic cleansing practices with appropriate guidance.

  • Mantra and Japa Yoga: Explore chanting as a contemplative practice.

  • Ayurveda and naturopathy: Study traditional approaches to daily routines, the five elements and wellbeing.

  • Meditation: Experience different approaches to observation, concentration, tranquillity and self-inquiry.

Learning Beyond the Classroom

At TSC, learning is not limited to attending classes. Students are encouraged to observe their own practice, reflect on their experiences and develop a deeper understanding of how yoga can be integrated into everyday life.

Dedicated meditation space is available for personal practice during the program, subject to the school's arrangements.

A Training for Personal Growth and Teaching

A yoga teacher training can be both a personal journey and a professional learning experience. The intention is to help students develop a more informed personal practice while building the foundations for teaching others responsibly.

The program follows a curriculum designed around the applicable Yoga Alliance syllabus requirements. Please contact TSC for confirmation of current registration, certification and eligibility details.
